YOU’RE HERE

The nurse pushed her on the gurney back from the recovery room. Before she got back to her room, for eyes went shut again from the morphine. But not for long. As she began to wake up again, she could feel the touch of skin against the back of her hand. Someone was holding it. It pained her upper neck and upper back to do so, but slowly, she turned her head. She saw him smiling with a gleam in his eyes. That gleam she’d always imagined. It took only seconds for her to comprehend, then a smile of realization came over her face. You could hear faint excitement in her still sleepy voice. 

“You’re Here”.
